If your going to be doing a lot of traveling in the near future, one of the things you may want to plan for is your health.  While, I know that’s a pretty tricky thing to do, it’s important to keep in mind, that traveling can be very physical and being healthy can make your travel time more enjoyable.  Apart from the obvious adventure travel that includes lots of hiking or climbing, there are other health concerns you should take care of.  If you wear glasses, then it makes good sense to have your prescription glasses checked by your eye doctor to make sure they’re up to date.  You don’t want to have to go shopping for eyeglasses in a foreign country where good eyeglasses may be both hard to find and expensive.  It may be a good idea to pack a spare pair with you before you leave.

Getting a physical, and dental checkup are not bad ideas also.  I wouldn’t want to wake up in the middle of the night during my dream vacation with a painful throbbing cavity.  Who knows what kind of dentist you’ll find overseas.  Working out is not a bad idea either.  A little weight training and cardio work a few months prior to your trip, are bound to make you far more durable on the road.  It may even make sleeping in an airplane not so painful.
