London is a mass, sprawling place, and to try and see the whole place by foot would be suicide, and if it didn’t kill you, it would probably take twenty years!
For those of you who would like to get to know London by foot, the only way to do this is to devote yourself to a particular area of London, and the best place to do this, where there is the most going on in a small area, is the West End.

The West End really is the main area of London in terms of tourists. This is where most of the attractions are, and the majority of tourists that visit London tend to spend their time in this area. It is a wonderful area to be in, because right on your doorstep you have the lovely Covent Garden, the fascinating and bohemian Soho, the riches of Oxford Street, the food of Chinatown, and the theatres of Leicester Square and Piccadilly.

I really would recommend anyone who visits this area to try to see the place purely by foot. From the far end of Oxford Street to the far end of Covent Garden, you are probably looking at a walk of about forty five minutes, so it is more than achievable.

A lovely thing to do is walk all day, and reward yourself at night. The new lion king show has recently opened in the West End and is winning fantastic reviews in all of the publications. Book yourself in to this great show after you have done the hard work in the day time!
