A few years ago a my best mate told me he was getting married. We had been inseparable for years and years, so in a way I was sad to think that he was going to move on with his life and have a family – things which I knew would make our relationship a little less special – but I was absolutely thrilled for him too. As soon as he told me I was already thinking of the stag do! I knew that I had to arrange something extra special for him. We had been hanging out with the same crowd of people for years and years, and I immediately thought that a week away with all the guys from the old days would be the perfect way to celebrate his marriage. I didn’t want him to know too much about the whole affair though, so I told him to keep a week free two weeks before the wedding, and that we would be doing something great! He was happy to be kept in the dark as long as we weren’t going to stow him away on a ship as part of a stag prank!

As soon as I saw my other friends I started to plan the trip. I decided we should all head out to one of the Greek islands for a week of sun, fun and booze! I thought the best and most exciting way to do this was to book some air flights and just head out there with no accommodation booked! A lot of people wouldn’t like to do this but we had always been up for a bit of adventure, and the thought of landing down in a foreign country not knowing where we are going to stay is just so exciting! Obviously if you go onto a site which helps you with holiday planning the first thing they tell you to do is to make sure all the aspects of your holiday are booked – but we liked to do things a bit differently!

The one thing I did do though was to check that everything would run smoothly with our flight. If we weren’t going to book any accommodation then the last thing I wanted was any problems with our luggage or flight delays, so I logged onto a site which gave some good tips for flying.

Naturally the stag do was a great success, but I think it would be better for the details of that trip to remain undisclosed!
