I was looking online at some of the Eurail passes to see if any of them fit my itinerary. I think the best pass for me is to get the Global pass. It allows me to ride the train within 21 countries. It also has the longest time frame available of three months. The pass also acts as a coupon with other companies so I will save money on accommodations and other transportation. If I arrive to a city’s airport there is often a connection to the railway station that is free. If I need to take a ferry at some point, which is likely, the pass will get me a discount on most of the ferry lines. One thing I don’t like about the pass is that it doesn’t guarantee that I will have a seat. I still have to make arrangements for a reservation if I need to be somewhere at a specific time. That is a small inconvenience though as I don’t foresee that to happen anyway. The Eurail website was a great resource to me as I planned this trip.
